What are Discipleship Groups?
The aim of Discipleship Groups is to deepen your relationship with God in the community of God’s people.
Your commitment will be to meet for 1 hour every week at a time and place (including online) suitable for the members of your group.
Your group will be allocated based on the information and requests you provide, along with the prayerful consideration of the pastoral team of the most spiritually suited groupings. We ask that you commit to deepening your relationship with the members of your group through respectful and loving conversation and prayer. These groups should be spaces of safety and trust. It is important that you keep each other’s lives and thoughts confidential.
Please note that these groups will be single-sex spaces.
Whilst there will be no formal leader appointed for each group, we will invite you to participate in a regular survey so that the pastoral team can gauge how the groups are running and provide care and counsel as required. Of course, you do not need to wait for a survey, but can bring any feedback or concerns directly to the team.
Each week, you will find a new guide for the meeting, with a suggested outline for you to follow. You can expect the following elements:
Receive: Read a Psalm (provided) together, spend time in individual meditation & prayer, share what God has been speaking and pray responsively (20mins)
Read: Read the week’s sermon passage together, spend time working through discussion questions (provided) together (20mins)
Respond: Take time to discuss how this applies to your life situation, spend time keeping each other accountable, pray together (20mins)
