Why Jesus?

Who is God? This question has perplexed generations of teachers, philosophers, politicians, farmers and people from all walks of life from all generations. Does He love us? Is He in control? What is His will for us? Can He even be known?

“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself, God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known”

John | 1:18

Jesus is the one who revealed who the eternal God was to the world.

He himself was God, performing miracles and revealing truth to those that were listening. He taught the world that God was truth. Not only did He teach truth, He also revealed the heart of God for humanity; For He died on the cross, taking with Him the penalty and power of our sins and dysfunctions, so that ‘whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life’ (John 3:16). He revealed that God loves us.

But he didn’t die forever, because anyone could claim to die for another. Jesus, after 3 days, rose from the dead and proclaimed His victory over death itself! So that ‘in Christ all will be made alive’ (1 Corinthians 15:22). That is, even though we’ve done wrong before God, through Jesus, death is no longer our final destination, but through Jesus, we shall be with God forever. Death is not the final state of those who believe in Him.

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, begotten of God, not made, being of one substance with the Father, whom all things are made, through whom the invisible God has been made known.

So that we may know Him and His love for us.

Here at NLEC, we pray that you would come into a relationship with God through Jesus as well, and if that is something you would like, please feel free to email us, grab a coffee and a bible, and let us tell you about the one who has changed the world forever.
