Parent Discussion

For our final week of our Miracles series, your child learned about the Bible story called The Thankful Leper. Ten people had leprosy and Jesus told them to go see the priests. While they were walking they were healed. Their leprosy was gone. Jesus did a miracle – but only one went back to Jesus. He thanked and praised  Jesus for what he had done. He knew the miracle was because of Jesus! Jesus is able to do miracles because he is God’s Son and God’s power is in Him.

You can thank Jesus for all the miracles – the ones you read about in the Bible, the miracles you hear about, and the ones you experience in your own life. You can thank him for anything and everything like your family, friends, food, house, car, toys/games, church, school, teachers, sports/talents, and so much more because God is the one who provides all of these good things for you.

You can thank him by praying to him and telling him how much you appreciate what he’s given you. You can sing worship music as a thank you to Jesus. You can also share about all these things with your friends and family. Jesus loves everyone and wants everyone to know him and be in God’s family.

Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story and remember the Big Idea: I can thank Jesus for what he does for me:

1. In today’s Bible story, how many people had leprosy?
2. Jesus told the men with leprosy to go see the priests. What happened while they were walking?
3. How many men went back to see Jesus?
4. What did the man do when he saw Jesus again?
5. How is Jesus able to do miracles?
6. What are some things you can thank Jesus for?
7. How can you thank Jesus for all he has done for you?
