Fruit of the Spirit (Patience) – Paul and Felix (Acts 24)
Big Point
Patience is waiting with a good attitude
Big Word
‘But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!’ (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT)
Parent Discussion
Your child learned about the Fruit of the Spirit of patience. Paul showed patience when he wrongfully sat in
jail for two years. Instead of being rude and angry toward his accusers, he continued to joyfully share the love of Christ.
Patience is waiting with a good attitude and trusting in God’s timing rather than our own. When we patiently wait on God with a good attitude, He is able to work His perfect will in our lives. Take some time this week to go through these
discussion questions with your child, which will help reinforce the importance of patience.
1. Is it hard to wait for something?
2. When someone tells you “not right now” or “wait,” should you be angry or patient?
3. What does God think when we wait patiently with a good attitude?
