Read (20 mins):

Read Genesis 19:1-29

Take a little time to skim through the last few chapters of Genesis and track the movement of Lot. What can you see about Lot’s priorities? How has this been reflected in his position in the city (probably the mayor) and in his family’s decisions?

Where, even in the face of imminent destruction, does Lot continue to seek compromise?

Despite Lot’s poor choices and his divided heart, he is still saved. What is the basis on which he is saved (vv27-29)?

How are we in a similar position to Lot? What is the ultimate basis of our salvation?

In what ways can we value God’s grace in our salvation?

Respond (20 mins):

Spend a few minutes in personal reflection. What is the Holy Spirit impressing on your heart? (3 mins)

Take time to share how the Holy Spirit is challenging you. How can you be accountable to each other? Consider keeping a record for the purposes of prayer and accountability. (12 mins)

Pray for each other. (5 mins)
