Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus – Romans 8:1
Therefore. One word that swallows up clauses, paragraphs, even chapters. It is a word pregnant with meaning and yet we often skip over it. Eager to get to what comes next, we barely pause to consider how all that has gone before fills up what follows.
Today’s devotion is a short one. I would like to leave you time to read Romans 1-7 (maybe over a couple of days) and think on how all that has gone before has led to this point.
I encourage you to read slowly and carefully and not to hide from that searchlight of truth that God wants to shine in your life. We were deserving of condemnation, justly and rightly; and apart from Christ Jesus, we would still be destined for that fate. Consider your heart and consider what Christ has done.

- Praise God for His redeeming love and work
- Pray that God will remind and show you how He has worked and is at work in your life
- Pray that we would learn to repent as we see our hearts, and learn to be thankful as we see God’s grace
