Children’s Sunday: Who You Say I Am<\/p>\n
I am not alone<\/p>\n
Be strong and brave. Don\u2019t be afraid of them. Don\u2019t be terrified because of them. The Lord your God will go with you. He will never leave you. He\u2019ll never desert you. <\/span>\u2013Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIRV)<\/span><\/p>\n Today we celebrated Children’s Sunday!\u00a0 We talked about being about to speak up when we are anxious, scared, lonely or afraid. We shared about the availablity of the Kids Help Line and that our mental and spiritual health are so important, especially after many lockdowns, COVID-19 and social isolation.<\/span><\/p>\n We also learnt from Joshua 1, that <\/span>God says that we are not alone. Just as God spoke to Joshua and promised He would never leave <\/span>him, Jesus promised us that the Holy Spirit would be with us always. Before Jesus ascended to <\/span>heaven He spoke to His disciples, instructing them to tell others about Him. Jesus said, Matthew <\/span>28:20 (NIrV), \u201cTeach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I <\/span>am always with you, to the very end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n God\u2019s promise is the same for us today. The Holy Spirit is with us wherever we go and whatever we face.<\/span><\/p>\n Just like Joshua, we can be strong and courageous. When we know God is with us and we are not alone we can face any challenge or battle we come across. We can know God\u2019s peace and comfort when we know that we\u2019re not doing it alone.
